Language and Literature
Language is fundamental to learning, thinking and communicating; it therefore permeates all learning experiences within the MYP at Good 榴莲视频下载 Lutheran College. Through rigorous, inquiry-based learning experiences in Language and Literature, learners are equipped with linguistic, analytical and communicative skills. As learners interact with a wide variety of literature they can generate insight into moral, social, economic, political, cultural and environmental factors and so contribute to the development of opinion-forming, decision-making and ethical-reasoning skills empowering students to become more reflective and principled.
A strong emphasis is placed on learners developing as communicators who can express themselves confidently and creatively. Learners engage in increasingly complex learning experiences that provide them with opportunities to develop their listening, speaking, reading, writing, viewing and presenting skills. Through the exploration of rich and engaging written, spoken and visual texts, learners are drawn into multiple contexts and come to see important issues and ideas from others perspectives. As learners are given time to think freely and immerse themselves in the creative process of analysing, organising their thoughts and ideas and producing multiple texts, they can come to view themselves as writers capable of producing excellent work - both fiction and nonfiction.
